FOGGIA – The issue of the Gino Lisa airport is always in the foreground thanks also to Senator Annamaria Fallucchi (Brothers of Italy) who presented a question to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport regarding the recognition of “territorial continuity” which would guarantee the Gino Lisa a series of benefits. the senator informed the president of the Region, Michele Emiliano, about the affair.
«Following a question signed by me, published last February, aimed at obtaining recognition of the needs of territorial continuity for flights to and from the Lisa airport in Foggia, with consequent imposition of public service charges, I had the opportunity to interact with the offices of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. I have learned that in these hours the Ministry has sent a note in response to your letter of 11 April with which it requested the imposition of public service charges on the Foggia airport. A diligent response, a few weeks later, in which the Ministry, in ensuring its full availability in accompanying the Region in the necessary process, highlighted that the same can only be started after the Region has accompanied the request with the documents, in-depth studies and study elements from which the prerequisites and conditions for the recognition of territorial continuity as done in other Regions, most recently in the Marche and Friuli Venezia Giulia are deduced”, writes Fallucchi who adds: ” In particular, the Region is asked to produce: documentation aimed at demonstrating how the territory concerned falls among the “peripheral” or “developing” areas; indication of the connections on which you would like to activate public service obligations; detailed and analytical study (accompanied by a specific market survey) from which a reliable estimate of the traffic on the requested connections can be deduced”. «I am sure that the Region, also with the support of Aeroporti di Puglia, will have no difficulty in providing, with the utmost rigor and at the same time with the utmost promptness, the information requested in order to complete, successfully and on time as short as possible, the process of recognizing territorial continuity. While waiting for the Region to take action, the good news is that the Ministry is available and inclined towards a positive resolution of the issue, having fully grasped the importance it has for the province of Foggia also following the multiple reports and requests received by representatives of the territory. The entire province of Foggia has been asking for and waiting for territorial continuity for some time. There is one last step left to take, with concreteness and seriousness, and this step is now up to you”, concludes Fallucchi in the letter to the president.
