“I said no to the increase in the Tari, with an increase equal to 8.22%, because I believe that this decision prepared by the municipal administration, and voted by a majority increasingly supine compared to the choices made from above, is not due only to the increase in disposal costs but also to the mismanagement by the city executive of everything that has to do with combating the bad practice of abandoning waste and the proliferation of illegal micro-landfills present in the municipal territory” .
City councilor Biagio Pelligra (in the photo) says this after the vote the other evening within the civic assembly of Vittoria. “The increase in undifferentiated dry waste – continues Pelligra – is the result of the lack of attention that this administration has not been able to implement and which, in fact, reverberates on those citizens who have operated correctly and who, now, find themselves having to do the accounts with a significant outlay to the detriment of their pockets. We have asked several times to increase the aspects related to video surveillance, the installation of specific camera traps, the establishment of environmental guards, to try to dissuade those who continue to litter regardless of the rules. And yet it seems that from these ears the municipal administration does not hear us and prefers to adopt measures which, as in this case, also harm those who follow the rules. Wrong choices that will not achieve the desired result. We hope that something, at least for the future, can change and that we don’t just decide to burden the community’s shoulders. Inability cannot be covered by raising taxes.”
