Market, the dream is to find the great bomber. But Bisoli is the man of the goal cooperative

AAA double-digit striker wanted. A quite difficult item to find nowadays on the football market. The Canarian people, mindful of the performances of the various Granoche, Babacar, Ardemagni and Bucchi, just to name four attackers who have entered the hearts of the fans, are asking for it loudly, especially after that in the championship just concluded the Canarian scorer was a midfielder like Palumbo , who with seven goals finished ahead of the best striker of the yellows, Strizzolo, who stopped at six. The numbers speak for themselves: of Modena’s 41 goals, only 44 percent came from the attackers, or 18, including those of the January starters Bonfanti and Falcinelli. To date, with contracts that expire between 2025 and 2026, Modena has five permanent strikers in its squad, read Abiuso, Gliozzi, Strizzolo, Manconi and Di Stefano.

Abiuso will certainly remain, growing and constantly improving, and Gliozzi, for whom the coach from Porretta had unequivocal words of esteem after the Modena-Como match; considering the playing time in his short management, Strizzolo would also fit into Bisoli’s plans, while Di Stefano and Manconi could be evaluated, with the latter who, after a crackling start to the season, suffered, also due to physical problems, a decline towards the end of season. But let’s go back to the initial consideration, that is, the search for the striker who can guarantee ten goals and above. But is an attacker with these characteristics really useful for the game that Bisoli wants to play or not? To try to answer this question we looked through the almanacs and went to see the squads available to the coach from Porretta in some of the seasons in which he remained on the bench for the whole season (or almost), finding interesting numbers, especially because in the championships taken into consideration, the coach achieved two promotions to Serie A and a playoff semi-final, which he lost at the last minute in Bari a year ago. So let’s start from the last tournament, when he was at the helm of Sudtirol: on that occasion the best scorer was Odogwu with 9 goals, while the other nine attackers in the squad scored a total of 14. The same thing happened in the Cesena 2013/2014 edition, when seven players from the front line scored, with the best striker being Rodriguez who reached 8. We remain in Cesena, in the 2009/2010 Serie B championship. Of the seven forwards in the squad, even on this occasion the best did not reach double figures, as Ceccherini stopped at 7, followed one point behind Malonga. Numbers in hand, it would seem that with Bisoli the famous ‘goal cooperatives’ will make more, rather than the super bomber. However. Raise your hand if you don’t want a striker with over ten goals… Also because the cooperatives mentioned above often become a palliative for the lack of a goalscorer. Topics that could be discussed for hours, especially because in the end what matters is always the result. The rest is football philosophy.
