May the streets be a triumph of art for everyone

The combination of image and music is certainly among the most effective for understanding art and its infinite formal and content implications.

Through the music by Alberto Iovene, Saverio Pansini will take us on a journey inside the street art to understand how some of its creative aspects, based on an immediately understandable modern language, arise from a fundamentally countercultural impulse aimed at dialogue with the urban context.

Banksyperhaps the most famous contemporary writer, wants to believe that Peace, Justice, Freedom are still the basis of Western democracies and bases his entire artistic production on the affirmation of these principles, which runs from England to Palestine, passing through Italy, France, America and Ukraine. There where rights are violated and his intervention therefore becomes necessary. The intention is to highlight the contradictions of the Western system and, at the same time, send a signal of possible redemption”.

Professor Pansini’s words introduce us to the experience that will come to life on May 23, at 6.00 pmin the agora of “VF Cassano” primary school in Bitonto.

“Banksy skillfully manipulates the communication codes of mass culture by transposing even atrocious themes into a dreamlike, fairy-tale dimension, in order to raise awareness among recipients without shocking them, inducing them to reflect and thus transforming the function of the urban planning fabric of Western cities. It is from this perspective that the British writer often entrusts his message to children: their naive creativity goes beyond the limitations placed to strike more directly at a fundamentally unjust system.

At the same time the numerous rat that swarm in his works to cover the walls of the city, are beings that exist without asking anyone for permission to exist. Hated, hunted, persecuted, they are, however, capable of bringing the entire civilization to its knees. THE rat (acronym for Art) are the losers, those who count for nothing. Banksy gives them a voice by building a conceptual operation that goes beyond the activity of the individual artist to become a choral expression. This is the reason that leads him to maintain anonymity and to create an art with a strong countercultural impact.

The wall is a great weapon. It’s one of the worst things to hit someone with: a graffitisays Banksy, placed next to a traffic light is certainly looked at longer than awork in museum and, therefore, its cultural and civil solicitations overwhelm any other exhibition system”.

An important event which, by activating multiple senses, will allow an authentic aesthetic experience.
