The activities of the Pro Loco Reggio Southengaged every weekend in May in the context of the project: “May in bloom in Pellaro and surrounding areas”.

Saturday the 11th was the second week that was affected by the cleaning there Central square of Pellaro Vittorio Veneto, which was cleaned up by our tireless members, who with a spirit of service and annexed out of love for the territory, redeveloped and embellished it with the planting of flowering plants. Subsequently we passed through the square of San Filippo, where the members of the “Jamu” social promotion association were waiting for us and they cleaned the square and together we planted new flowering plants there too, as a contribution to the already beautiful flowery corner and always well cared for. Our applause goes to them for the care of the places of their community. We would like to thank the sponsor Edil Garden dei F.lli Marra, a shop located in Pellaro, who offered us the plants that we planted in the two squares.
In the afternoon we continued with the creative laboratory curated by the artists: Francesca Foti and Maria Maddalena Cicciù, who made themselves available to donate their time by making their art available to guarantee a beautiful afternoon, which made many children and adults happy who had the opportunity to create small creations, objects dedicated to Mother’s Day, learning among other things a new manipulative art.
The intense day ended with an evening dedicated toinformationthanks to the presence of Dr. Francesco D’Aleo, Prof. Giovanni Marcianò and Dr. Linuccio, who during the conference “the places that create well-being – keep an eye on the territory” have expertly illustrated the sites of historical and cultural interest of our territory, (available from Dr. Francesco D’Aleo’s blog) the Art Nouveau villas of Pellaro, thanks to the information from Prof. Marcianò’s book and the city reality of the Knowledge and Wellbeing Park which is located in Pantano in San Filippo of Pellaro, which was described by Dr Caserta, who also underlined the prevention that must be done by citizens to guarantee fewer sick people and lower healthcare costs, more healthy places to always be protected by the citizens themselves, as they affect well-being psychophysical of the entire community. We would like to thank all those who in various capacities help us to organize the events every Saturday: Nicola Oriente, the president of the Friends of the Elderly Association of Pellaro for his help with logistics in the square and to Dr Salvatore Polimeri.
The next appointment
We are waiting for you Saturday 18 Mayor with another series of events: 9-11 am ecological morning in Piazza San Leo in Pellaro; 4.30pm-6.30pm “Art in the square” – creative workshop in Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Pellaro; again in the square at 5.30pm vintage car exhibition, Fiat 500 rally organized by the Reggio Calabria Club, parade along the city streets from Bocale to San Gregorio, at the end refreshments and awards ceremony for the participants; followed at 9.00 pm “dances and folklore: performances of dance schools, tambourine and accordion music by local musicians, tarantellas and social dances, to liven up the evening in the square. All citizens are invited to participate, there will be fun for all age groups, we have organized these events with the aim of livening up the Pellarese town in the month of May.
