Event in Cerignola dedicated to eating disorders and body positivity

Friday 17 May at Villa Bautier a conference to reflect on the relationship with food and the body
The first event dedicated to eating disorders and body positivity will be held on Friday 17 May at Villa Bautier, Contrada Quarto Cerignola. The event, entitled “Life Beyond the Looking Glass”, aims to raise public awareness of the importance of a healthy relationship with one’s body by promoting self-acceptance and offering concrete tools to achieve a healthy relationship with the food and one’s physicality.
The conference will open at 7.00 pm with the reading of a page from the book “You are beautiful” by Janna Carioli and Vittoria Facchini, a story that tells, in a delicate and simple way, the story of a little girl who fights against eating disorders.

“Given that in recent years, especially after Covid, there has been a strong increase in children and adolescents suffering from eating disorders, we thought we would open the meeting with the voice of a little girl who will interpret this picture book” explains Celestepia Diterlizzi, organizer of the event together with Pia Reddavide.
A series of talks by industry experts will follow:
• Pia Reddavide, body specialist
• Celestepia Diterlizzi, clinical psychologist
• Veronica Erinnio, kinesiologist
• Giampaolo Cianci, nutritional biologist.

The speakers, moderated by Pierluigi Lapollo and Natalia Reddavide, will talk about the different forms of eating disorders, their effects on physical and mental health, and strategies to overcome them. Additionally, they will share practical tips to promote body acceptance and develop a healthy relationship with food.
Special guest of the evening will be Sara Ciafardoni, blogger, influencer and author of “I’m still here”, a touching and realistic novel that offers hope on eating disorders and their devastating effects on the lives of those who suffer from them but also a hymn to hope and willpower.
The meeting will end with a choreography by the “Scarpette rosa” dance school aimed at promoting self-esteem and body positivity through dance.
‘Life Beyond the Mirror’ is a free event aimed at all those interested in eating disorders, body positivity and the promotion of a healthy relationship with one’s body.

The intent of the organizers Pia Reddavide and Celestepia Diterlizzi is to promote self-acceptance and raise awareness among citizens of eating disorders, which affect more and more people, especially young people, as well as contributing to creating a more inclusive and welcoming society, where everyone can feel at ease with your own body.
