“They instructed me on what to do and how to prostitute myself”, one of the 16-year-olds explained to the investigators, who after having vented her feelings to her father told the investigators about the perverse dynamics of the organization, who define this step as “the milestone of the activities that shed full light on the prostitution ring” of minors. The first meeting with the prosecutors, reports the Corriere della Sera Bari edition, was characterized by a story full of gaps and reticence. The 16-year-old refers to three of the four women arrested. While dating two girls, “she had first started using soft drugs, only to then start prostitution accompanied by her associates”. The “qualitative leap” in the escort business came when the 29-year-old from Bari “behind the threat of spreading some compromising photos who would have made her activity as a young escort public, would have forced her to have paid sexual relations in accommodation facilities that Basile himself booked”.
It all begins in the autumn of 2022, when the two girls convince the 16-year-old to prostitute herself with them: “They instructed me on what and how to do it. I had intercourse with men about 5 times”. The 29-year-old at the head of the organization “was running scams online and when they started to go badly he started offering me prostitution. In the meantime he gave me 300 euros to prostitute me with him. Afterwards he organized everything for me to prostitute myself, he got a dedicated telephone, he found the B&Bs. Then at the end of the day he deleted the chats. He convinced me to call a friend from school who also participated, on a couple of occasions, in paid sexual encounters.”
Rates varied between 300 and 500 euros. The 16-year-old also told about her first time: “Some customers arrived and they made me participate in the act and gave me at the end 100 euros. That day two more customers arrived, the second case also went the same way as the first. From that day I began to hang out with the girls with whom we went to B&Bs and I began to have relationships even on my own.”
