This afternoon’s collision between two cars and a bus in via Cappuccini in Matera: three injured

MATERA – Around 2.20pm this afternoon a road accident occurred in via Cappuccini in Matera. The collision involved a city bus with 4 passengers and the driver inside, all unharmed, a Lancia Y with only the 60-year-old driver on board and a Mercedes containing its 56-year-old driver and a 38 year old passenger, all residents of Matera.

The team from the Matera Fire Brigade Headquarters intervened on site, together with the officers of the Matera Municipal Police and the 118 ambulances.

The intervention of the Fire Brigade was essential in order to extract the unfortunate victim from the sheets of the Lancia. All 3 occupants of the cars, injured, were entrusted to the care of the 118 medics, and transported to the Madonna delle Grazie Hospital in Matera.

The stretch of road affected by the incident, at the intersection that separates the Cappuccini and Agna districts, remained closed to traffic for the time necessary to carry out the rescue operations.
