It’s over, now it’s holiday time. The last bell rang today, Saturday 8 June, also consigning to the archives the 2023/2024 school year for the 22,489 students of Polesine, excluding nursery schools. As usual, at the exit there was no shortage of jubilant displays, water balloons, hugs and promises. A ritual that is repeated every year but keeps its freshness intact.

For those who sat among the benches there were certainly months of joys and sorrows, of sufficiencies and insufficiencies, of friendships, of crushes, of arguments, of satisfactions and of tears. Of tasks, checks, questions and absences, more or less strategic. But now, it’s over for now and it’s time for rest and vacation. Slowly, however, not for everyone. For those who have reached the last day of the last year of their school cycle, it is not over yet and the holidays have to wait: first you have to overcome the last challenge, that of the final exam.

Maturity it will begin for all institutes on Wednesday 19 June at 8.30, with a maximum duration of six hours and with identical methods for all. It was what was once the “Italian theme”, whereas now it is an Italian test with various tracks, but divided into different writing methods. The second test, which concerns the disciplines that characterize the course of study, different between the various courses, will be held on Thursday 20 June, again starting at 8.30. The oral exams will then begin on the Monday or Tuesday following the second test. The commissions will hear about five candidates per day and will generally conclude within the first two weeks of July. At that point it will truly be a holiday for everyone.
