The list of municipalities and Blue Flag beaches for 2024 has been published: Campania is full again thanks to Naples and Cilento, with the new entry on the Caserta coast of Cellole, in the Caserta area. Satisfaction for the mayors of the localities involved: however, the absence of all the islands of the Gulf stands out with the exception of the municipality of Anacapri. The number of beaches in Campania that are Blue Flag therefore rises to 20, one year after the last Legambiente report. “Our city is confirmed as a Blue Flag also for 2024”, commented the mayor of Agropoli, Roberto Antonio Mutalipassi, “It is number 25 for the beaches of Trentova and the seafront, the twelfth for the landing place. A satisfaction that gives us pushes us to do even more for our most precious treasures represented by the sea and the beaches”, concluded the mayor of Cilento. But the most moved reaction is that of the mayor of Cellole: it is the first time that a beach on the Domitian coast has obtained a Blue Flag, and upon the announcement the mayor Guido Di Leone he appeared visibly moved.

We are crying, it’s a dream come true. For the first time in the history of the Province of Caserta, a municipality obtains the recognition of the blue flag. This must be a victory for the whole territory. We are in Rome, we are taking the flag home, in a few days it will be flying over the entire municipality, but now I swear that the emotion is very strong: Cellole has won!

Campania is hoarding Blue Flags with the beaches of Naples and Cilento, but this year there is the return of the Caserta coast, and in particular the municipality of Cellole, with the beaches of Baia Felice and Baia Domizia Sud.
