Yesterday was the news of a false alarm at Marconi airport due to an alleged gun found inside a suitcase. As the Bologna police headquarters later clarified, it was an error, but the alarm had various repercussions on air traffic, with nine flights canceled and eleven flights diverted to other airports.
As it writes in a note, Enac (National Civil Aviation Authority) has initiated, on the basis of the information acquired, the “procedure for the suspension and revocation of the Security manager” of Marconi of Bologna, as well as “the application of the sanctioning measures provided for by article 1174 of the Navigation Code”.
“For almost two hours – continues the note reported by the Dire agency – the airport’s activity was suspended, with nine flights canceled and another eleven diverted to other airports and with serious repercussions on airport operations and consequent disruption to passengers”. Finally, Enac writes further, “those who have been injured can take action to request compensation for damages against the responsible parties”.
