Today’s visit to the city by the Deputy Minister of Justice is an opportunity not to be wasted for the Cremona court at risk of paralysis due to lack of administrative staff. Francesco Paolo Sistowho reached the courthouse in the afternoon for two meetings: one with the president of the court Anna di Martino, and the other with a representative of the Cremona Bar Association chaired by the lawyer Alessio Romanelli and the legal associations. The primary objective is to resolve the problem of the lack of administrative staff, the uncovering of which within the workforce is 42.6%. “Let’s see if it’s possible,” said the deputy minister, “I’ll give some answers to put a stop to this escape from the places of justice. These are not decisive solutions, but we will be able to provide excellent relief to the situation in Cremona. It’s about finding personnel from everywhere, scraping a little here and a little there and favoring Cremona for this very serious situation. We will try this cut and sew operation, but we will certainly have some results soon.”

Before arriving in court, the deputy minister stopped in prison, where he met the prison director Rossella Padula. “There is a bit of work to be done on the prison,” said Sisto. It is a large prison, too large, populated in a particular way, there is a large portion of the prison population with environmental difficulties and perhaps the prison is the only place where prisoners can get to know and recognize each other. I spoke to the director and told her to be particularly attentive to the quality of human relationships.” For the deputy minister, a major building intervention should be carried out to rearrange the entire energy system, there are deficiencies in terms of security, in the throwing of mobile phones from outside, of narcotic substances, and there is the aggravating circumstance of the proximity to the public road and some intervention will be necessary”. The deputy minister said he found the prison officers “reassuring and on-the-spot, perfectly aware of the situation. I saw the kitchens, I saw chefs of all nationalities, the head chef is very friendly, and this diversity of origin must be a stimulus to guarantee the best conditions, but there is work to be done”.
