«The Varese Corsi service will resume after the summer with a new organizer. Varese Corsi is a service offered by the Municipality of Varese to citizens for over twenty years and from today it is also a registered trademark for the exclusive use of the Municipality itself, to protect the managers and above all the users of the courses and the various activities that will be proposed.”
The municipal administration’s press release announces it without doing so directly and with a terse and impersonal style, but the news is very clear and “with a bang”: the Cavedio cooperative, which had managed Varese Corsi since 2016 but collaborated on the schedule with a series of proposals since the end of the 90s, will no longer manage the municipal program of courses for adults, and from now on only the initiatives that will be part of the municipal program, of which the administration of Varese now owns the registered trademark.
The message was made public, after days of rumors, simultaneously announcing that a new manager had been identified, at the end of the competition launched weeks ago: «In recent days, the technical commission has evaluated the offers received and drawn up a ranking, which will be confirmed only after verification of the legal requirements of the winning entity”. So. The name of the winner of the race is not yet public.
Immediately afterwards, however: «The adaptation interventions of the Calcinate del Pesce headquarters and the spaces in Piazza della Motta will begin, in addition to the communication activities of the new proposals through traditional and digital channels»: as was already known, in fact, one of the objectives of the culture department was to decentralize the headquarters, while still maintaining availability for the traditional locations of the courses.
“The new project will be illustrated in detail immediately after the completion of the formal award documents”, concludes the press release: and at this point the curiosity about the future of the popular book of cultural and sporting courses at political prices is truly very high.
