Milan | San Cristoforo – Asti Architetti designs “Alzaya” in via Watt 15

Watt Street it is one of the streets that is experiencing a notable urban transformation in recent times, with a significant change in the destination of the entire neighborhood, from industrial to residential. It is located in the district of Saint Christopherwhich has long been the hub of early industrial activities, including the Richard Ceramics Companyalready active in the mid-nineteenth century and located right on the banks of the Naviglio Grande, now home to the WPP Village

The proximity of the district of Saint Christopher to the area of via Tortona and Porta Genova has led some old industrial warehouses to be transformed into exhibition spaces for exhibitions and fairs over time. In particular, the space in via Watt 15 will be subjected to an urban renewal operation with a new project.

Alzayathis is the original name chosen (referring to thetowpath of the Naviglio Grande not far from via Watt) for the construction of a new residential complex full of greenery and large terraces.

The intervention is signed by the Asti Architetti studio and involves the creation of a residential complex Divided into four buildings with four floors above ground for which they are intended 104 residential units.
The four buildings are immersed in a large condominium park which develops within the vast block.

Particular attention in the project was paid to design and functionality which can be found, for example, in the loggias and deep balconies which guarantee external livable spaces for all the residential units.

To make the building even more sustainable from an energy point of view, the installation of a photovoltaic system is planned to exploit renewable solar energy. The photovoltaic system will produce electricity which will be used to power the utilities in the common areas, ensuring environmental sustainability and reducing consumption.
