The 2024 Sustainability Festival in Messina

The three-day Messina Festival of Sustainability 2024 will be held in Messina, at Villa Dante, from Thursday 16th to Saturday 18th May.

The event will see the participation and active involvement of the municipal administration and of ATM, AMAM, Messina Servizi Bene Comune and Messina Social City.

When presenting the initiative (a this link the press release of the Municipality of Messina) the mayor Federico Basile underlined how “the inauguration of the redeveloped Villa Dante coincides with the second edition of the Sustainability Festival, scheduled as part of the national program of ASviS (Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development) to continue to promote the values ​​of sustainable development by telling where from we started and what has been done in the city to date, thanks to the policies implemented since 2018”.

Scheduled for the three-day event talks with experts and professionals in the sector, experiential workshops, moments of meeting and discussion on environmental protection, sustainable mobility, social inclusion, education for active citizenship and innovation.

Together with numerous third sector bodies in Messina, among the participants there will also be CESV – Messina Volunteer Service Center and LUdE – Free University of Education.

Salvatore Rizzo (LUdE) will report Thursday 16th from 3.00pm to 4.00pm on “Civic regenerations: why we cannot do without young people”.

CESV will speak through its director, Rosario Ceraolo, Saturday 18 May from 12:00 to 13:00 on the theme “The commitment of volunteering and the third sector for the promotion of the goals of the 2030 Agenda”.
