exhibition of vintage bicycles on the occasion of the Giro d’Italia

FANO – Thanks to the collaboration between theFIAB Fano FOR-BICI AssociationThe Municipality of FanoThe FCI Marche Regional Committee and the Alma Juventus Fano Amateur Cycling Clubon the occasion of the arrival in Fano of the 12th stage of the Giro d’Italiadue to Thursday 16 Mayfrom Saturday 11 May until Sunday 26 Mayat the Church of Sant’Arcangelo, Corso Giacomo Matteotti, one of the most prestigious collections of vintage bikes in the area has been set up.

Bikes on display are all part of the private collection of Fernando Vichi and have a dating that varies from end of the 19th century to the 1970s. They have all been subjected to mechanical overhaul or restoration, almost always of a conservative nature, during which an attempt was made to bring them back to their original state by searching for parts and accessories that have been lost over time.

The bicycle exhibition is enriched with photographic material donated to the FCI Marche Regional Committee by prof. Ferdinando Piras, great cycling enthusiast and collector of photos of posters relating to the Giro d’Italia, of notable historical, artistic and documentary interest.

The exhibition will be open on holidays and the day before holidays, from approximately 9am to 10pm, while on weekdays, from 3pm to 9pm, subject to reservations. The Italian Champion was present at the inauguration, held on Saturday 11 May at 5.30 pm Enrico Paolini which has seven victories in the Giro d’Italia.
