the garden of the former Hotel delle Nazioni
June 15th is a date to mark in the diary for San Giuliano Mare. That day, in fact, the redevelopment works of the Briolini park will begin, which should be completed by the end of July, and the garden of the former Hotel delle Nazioni will reopen which already last year, thanks to the Ci.vi.vo of the neighborhood, was a point of reference for residents and tourists.
The objective of both initiatives is to ensure that the area is an increasingly welcoming and safe place, in the name of redevelopment, aggregation, outdoor physical activity and the fight against climate change.
At the park, through a program agreement which provides for a total investment of 120 thousand euros – of which 96 thousand allocated by the Emilia-Romagna Region and 24 thousand by the Municipality of Rimini – will be installed a video surveillance systemenhanced public lightingredeveloped the green area and furnishings with the creation of some tanks with tree essences and plants to also be used for educational workshops with schools and the elderly, created a new fitness area with pull-up bars, parallel bars, wall bars, monkey bars, abdominal bench, plyometric box and push-up bars.
Also for summer 2024 the Hotel delle Nazioni will be a multifunctional space, a few steps from the Briolini park itself and the Darsena. From 15 June the garden will be open to free admission every day from 8am to 11pm, with a program of evening activities, shows and concerts and it will also be possible to book it for birthdays and private parties in the shade of the greenery. In these days the volunteers of the ci.vi.vo are already at work cleaning and restoring the green area, which even in the winter period was a point of reference for workshops and paths among the trees for the students of the schools with the initiative ‘The village of the elves’ which saw over 1200 school pupils visit the thematic village with a Christmas workshop.
