REGGIO – Ripepi: “Companies on their knees! A courageous, free and strong man from Reggio speaks!”

City Councilor Massimo Ripepi returns to comment on the heroic deeds of the traders who clash with the distortions of the Municipality of Reggio Calabria, from the restaurant of Domenico Cuzzocrea, a courageous entrepreneur who last night wanted to answer the Reggio politician’s questions live on Facebook.

“Domenico had the courage of the truth to denounce all the vicissitudes he is suffering due to an administration disconnected from the problems of citizens and specifically of entrepreneurs. Revolutions have always started with a few people, then the fire lights up and the people follow the revolutionaries.” – Massimo Ripepi introduced the speech as follows – “We need a revolution: why the political fact is that at the moment the city is completely desertified and devastated! The post-commissioning with the 10 years of Falcomatà has led to total destruction! Furthermore, all the ‘big names’ of Falcomatà have moved to the centre-right, so in the next round of elections, whoever votes for the CDX will practically vote for the former left-wing junta: now, left and right, two sides of the same coin!”

“This is why we need the courage of truth, channeled into a political project! It’s not enough to denounce things: we need to return to the conscience of the vote!” – explained Ripepi who, then turning to the entrepreneur – “Son of two Knights of Labour, Domenico Cuzzocrea is a great entrepreneur from Reggio who built himself with his own hands: but the thing that distinguishes him most is his courage!”

Ripepi’s interview with Domenico Cuzzocrea: “For the Administration, we entrepreneurs are chickens to be plucked… nothing but incentives!”

“Despite a lifelong commitment, institutions are light years away from the needs of those who do business. We are continually harassed! They see any entrepreneurial reality as a chicken to be plucked… this is what we have arrived at!” – Thus begins the speech of Domenico Cuzzocrea who, with a disappointed tone and great suffering, talks about the entrepreneurial reality of Reggio and the windmills against which he found himself fighting.

“The entrepreneur today is harassed, he is not seen as an added value to society!” – Cuzzocrea continues harshly – “We don’t have any type of service! In our small way we have tried to bring innovation: but there is an absolute void around us! From the water crisis that we have faced since they opened the Menta Dam to the rubbish in the tubs (complete with ad hoc sorting) which, if we leave the rubbish in the tubs, they don’t take it back, while if we only put the bag in, they do !”

Cuzzocrea: “For the Reggio Administration I am invisible: in Panarea instead they asked for my professionalism!”

“After I have invested hundreds of thousands of euros, bringing employment and important know-how, tomorrow I will be forced to go to Panarea because an entrepreneur heard that my business was closing and they want my professionalism there.” – continued Domenico Cuzzocrea – “Unfortunately, here I don’t exist for the administration: I’m a chicken to be plucked. I love this city otherwise I wouldn’t go back! I have invested money here, my time and sacrifice. I’m very angry and disappointed!”

A discrepancy, therefore, that underlined by Ripepi, in Cuzzocrea’s speech, between the way of welcoming entrepreneurship in other places compared to Reggio Calabria and, which the entrepreneur explored in depth: “When I started a business in Capo D’Orlando, the Mayor and Tourism Councilor to hug me and thank me for choosing to invest in that city. A council that has value appreciates the business and encourages entrepreneurs! Here in Reggio, however, in 10 years I have only seen the inauguration of the bridge on the Lido: are we crazy!? Tourists arrive, with the eyes of love and ready to spend money in this city where the economy is asphyxiated: but when our administrators have no love for their city and the results are visible!”

Parking issue? Cuzzocrea: “2 Euro parking will kill business!”

“While in many tourist cities parking costs just 50 cents, here in Reggio they talk about 2 euros of parking: but do you want to kill business?!” – scolded the entrepreneur who then concluded with disappointment and sadness: “I feel a visceral love for this land. I love Reggio Calabria: I was born there, my son was born there and I returned. Leaving is a defeat for me! I would have happily stayed at my house. Before leaving I felt the duty to speak on this live broadcast to report problems that are not mine, but everyone’s! I would like other traders to have the courage, rather than shaking my hand and smiling at me, to ask me to call Massimo to report all the distortions we are experiencing. Our kids are all leaving: it’s a bloodbath! I’m ready to fight to revolutionize everything!”

A conclusion that Ripepi promptly gathered to “officially” enlist the entrepreneur Domenico Cuzzocrea among the ranks of the Rheggio 743 BC Revolutionary Army, presenting the merchant in the now well-known title of “private soldier”: “Together with him, we will defend the our city. The revolution is necessary to undermine this system!” – Ripepi concluded with the hope of meeting again in Reggio Calabria the entrepreneur expelled from his home by his own administrators (who should have represented and protected him).
