The press conference to present the VIII edition of the “Adopt a Monument” project will be held on Monday 20 May at 10.30 am, in the Sala della Colonna of Palazzo Granafei Nervegna. The event will see the participation of the mayor Giuseppe Marchionna, the head of cultural services of the municipality of Brindisi Antonella Grassi, the president of the Le Colonne Association Anna Cinti and the schools involved.

During the press conference, the program and news of this eighth edition will be illustrated, the final phase of which will take place in Brindisi from 22 to 24 May. The project, born in 2015, aims to raise awareness among young generations of respect, protection and enhancement of the historical-artistic heritage of the city of Brindisi.

In recent months, the students have deepened their knowledge of the chosen sites through guided tours organized by the authorized guides of the Le Colonne Association and the study of the relevant documentation. The eighth edition will involve hundreds of students from first and second level primary schools and high schools, thanks to the growing interest of schools in Brindisi, who see the project as an important training experience complementary to their study programs.

Among the novelties of this year there are new cultural sites that are added to those already present in previous editions, such as the State Archives of Brindisi and the Castello Svevo. Furthermore, an in-depth study on legality is planned with the participation of students in Piazza Sottile de Falco.

The program of the 2024 edition will be divided into three days: Wednesday 22nd, Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th May, from 10:00 to 12:00.
