ANCONA– The port of Ancona has put out a tender for thestructural adaptation of platform 23 for the consolidation and repair of the infrastructure. The Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority has published the tender and expects that the improvement of the potential use of the quay will bring benefits to the commercial traffic of the port.
A modernization process which, after quay 22, now also involves quay 23 of the Marche dock, part of the renewal planning of the port infrastructure serving logistics. The project involves the dismantling of the rails on which the cranes operate and the existing railway tracks, which will be repositioned, the consolidation of the cellular structure of the platform and the area behind it, the resurfacing of the flooring and the installation of all the necessary platform furniture at mooring. The infrastructure will thus be adapted to the loads of modern self-propelled cranes; the provision for the possible installation of fixed cranes will also be maintained. The intervention will also make it possible to enhance the potential of intermodality in the Doric port thanks to the presence of railway tracks that allow the transport of goods up to the edge of the quay.
The total amount of the contract for the structural adaptation of the 23 is 16.5 million euros. Applications for the tender must reach the Port System Authority by 26 June 2024.
