Last Saturday morning, the agents of the State Police, belonging to the PS Commissariat of Acireale, together with the Crime Prevention Department of Eastern Sicily of Catania, as part of the Trinacria model, carried out an extraordinary service of control of the territory in the Municipality of Aci Castello, setting up checkpoints during which various infringements of the Highway Code were detected.
Checkpoints have been established along the coastal strip, from Aci Castello to the hamlets of Aci Trezza and Capo Mulini, also carrying out checks on customers at food and drink establishments. During the aforementioned service, 223 people were identified and 104 vehicles checked. Furthermore, 14 contraventions were issued to the Criminal Code. S. a value equal to 8,133.00 euros, with a reduction on driving licenses equal to 20 points in total.
Specifically, three people were sanctioned for lack of insurance coverage for civil liability, five for failure to have the vehicle inspected resulting in suspension from circulation, and two for driving motorcycles without a helmet.
A person was reported to the Prefecture of Catania for the subsequent revocation of his license, for driving a vehicle despite having a revoked license. For the aforementioned violations, five vehicles were seized and administratively detained and another five were suspended from circulation.
During the service, the policemen of the Administrative Police of the Catania Police Headquarters and the Acireale Police Station, together with the staff of the Labor Inspectorate, carried out two checks on food and drink administration establishments in Aci Castello and Acireale.
These checks made it possible to ascertain the irregularity of some positions of the employees currently operating. The owners of the two businesses were invited to produce the necessary documentation within 48 hours. In case of ascertained documentary irregularity, the labor inspectorate will proceed with the suspension of the activity.
Furthermore, in a commercial establishment, the failure to produce the risk assessment document was contested. Finally, with the help of dog units, some house searches were carried out in search of weapons and narcotics, with negative results.
Further extraordinary checks of the territory, coordinated by the PS Commissariat of Acireale, have been scheduled for the summer season and will concern, in addition to the territory in the Municipality where the aforementioned State Police garrison is located, also all those Municipalities falling within the jurisdiction of competence.
