The second edition of the Poetry Festival in Cosenza

Scheduled from tomorrow to May 17th. Caruso: important initiative

The program of the second edition of the National Poetry Festival promoted by the municipal administration, led by mayor Franz Caruso, in synergy with the “Attilio ed Elena Giuliani” Foundation was presented in Cosenza.

The cultural event will last four days, from tomorrow to May 17, and will be divided into a series of meetings with poets of national importance and also with what is particularly interesting in our latitudes in the field of poetry.

The program includes readings and meetings with poets, a poetic marathon and contaminations with music.

In particular, also a meeting organized in a pub where, after consuming, everyone can try their hand at reciting a poem.

“I consider this festival – said Caruso during the presentation press conference – an important initiative that increases the cultural value of our city. I am happy to see some students here today and I hope that they will participate in large numbers in the days we have organised”.

“In recent years – added the president of the Attilio and Elena Giuliani Foundation, Walter Pellegrini – the public’s attention towards poetry has grown significantly and therefore we have decided to enrich the cultural offer by inserting a festival that enhances this literary genre”.

The poet Daniele Cundari spoke of “a great organizational work which involves the involvement of four Cosenza high schools for a total of around 500 students involved in poetry workshops who will go from discovery, to reading and finally to the writing of verses. Furthermore, prominent poets and poets will arrive in the city with whom the children will be able to interact.”

Among the poets who will be present Claudio Damiani, Loretto Rafanelli, Giancarlo Pontiggia, Rossella Frollà, Gian Mario Villalta and Tiziana Cera Rosco.
