13/05/2024 – The Pesaro school field was the scene of an impressive debut with the inaugural edition of the Track Meeting, an event that attracted 380 athletes, including the 60 local talents of the Pesaro Athletic Field. Athletes from 11 years old up to the Senior category participated, demonstrating that athletics in the Marche region is more alive than ever.

Destiny Omodia, a promising youngster from Sef Stamura Ancona, not yet eighteen, recorded a new personal best in the 400 meters with a time of 48″48, taking first place ahead of teammate Alex Ebuka Chuks, who finished in 49 ”89. Piero Zaffini, another brilliant athlete from Pesaro Athletic Field, completed the podium with a respectable 51”79.

In the 800 meters, Federico Vitali of Atl. Avis Macerata dominated with a time of 1’52”50, confirming its bronze medal status at the recent Tricolori indoor under 23. In the sprint races, Alexandr Muzi of Sef Stamura Ancona excelled in the 100 meters, stopping the clock at 10”95, preceding Matteo Spuri of Atl. Fano Techfem and Matteo Angeloni of Sport Atl. Stopped.

The high jump saw a close competition with Michele Pasquinelli of Sef Stamura Ancona who surpassed everyone with a jump of 1.96 metres. Lorenzo Falappa of Team Atl. Marche and Alfredo Salvo Santone, also from Sef Stamura Ancona, offered notable performances, taking second and third place respectively.

In the women’s sector, Stella Moretti of Pesaro Athletic Field shone in the shot put, setting a new personal best of 10.58 meters and qualifying for the Italian junior championships. Her teammate Hannah Grace Birnbaum followed closely with a throw of 10.45 meters. In the long jump, Martina Ruggeri of Atl. Fabriano snatched victory on the last jump with 5.47 metres, overtaking Giulia Sammarini of Olimpus San Marino and Eleonora Fazi of Sport Atl. Stopped.

Women’s speed competitions have seen new talent emerge, with Vicky Ferrari of Atl. Estense who won the 100 meters in 12″62 and Penelope Semple, from Bologna, who dominated the 400 meters in 1’01″18. In the 100 student hurdles, Bianca Sulzer of Atl. Avis Macerata left her mark with a time of 15”79.

The 4×100 relays concluded the event in style, with the women’s team from Atletica Estense and the men’s team from Pesaro Athletic Field demonstrating their superiority with excellent times.

This athletics event not only showcased the high level of competence of the participating athletes but also strengthened the collaboration and sporting spirit between clubs and regions, promising great things for the future of athletics in the Marche region.
