The development package has already hit the track, in the 200 km of filming day completed in Fiorano by Leclerc and Sainz. The main changes to the SF-24 involve the belly sockets, the bottom, the power unit cover and the bottom belly volumes. Others, of lesser extent, affect the rear and front wings. The interventions carried out on the volumes of the engine cover modify the extraction of hot air in the area around the exhaust and in a slightly more forward position. The Ferrari-produced solution on the dynamic intakes on the sides of the cockpit is visually similar to Red Bull’s concepts on the RB20. However, the work carried out by the technicians had been underway since the winter and before the presentation of the Red Bull. The specificity of the development, with the tray replaced by the extension of the bodywork in the upper part at the entrance to the lateral intake, also lies in having integrated the vertical duct slot now into an intake complementary to the high one. In addition to the different shapes of the air intakes, the evolutionary work on the bellies involved the more hollowed-out volumes in the lower portion and in the connection to the bottom (all new). An optimization of the management of flows towards the diffuser, which presents another area of ​​sensitive evolution of the design.
