Orte-Falconara line, Region: “Work continues in compliance with the established times”

“The infrastructural and technological upgrading works in the section between Foligno and Terni of the Orte-Falconara railway line continue within the established timescales”. This was made known by the Umbria Region through the Councilor for Infrastructure and Transport. Started on May 4th, the interventions underway along the line should be completed, according to the schedule, in the first week of June. Furthermore, according to what the Donini Palace Authority announced on the basis of information provided by the Italian railway network, “the construction of the artificial rockfall protection tunnel at the height of Giuncano, approximately 40 meters long, is proceeding regularly for the protection of the railway site from phenomena of hydrogeological instability”.

Work that goes on even at night, 24 hours a day, as underlined by the regional councilor, who also reassures about the “maximum attention regarding replacement services for commuters and passengers”. An attention which, the Region explains, had already been adopted months before the start of the works, urging Trenitalia and RFi “so that the best possible solutions were adopted to mitigate as much as possible the inconveniences resulting from the interruption of railway circulation during the period of execution, with the activation of a specific discussion table and the involvement of the Commuter Committee Coordination” but also “requesting and obtaining remodulations of the services on several occasions”. “The situation – they conclude from the Region – is checked daily, with continuous dialogue, and will be until the end of the works, which will guarantee greater safety and regularity of the service as well as potential improvements in future services”.
