GENOA – A key week begins for Sampdoria, playing on Friday (8.30 pm) in Palermo in the preliminary round of the play offs: “Barbera” needs a victory to keep their hopes of returning to Serie A alive. The decision is expected this evening. Many Sampdorian fans – already on Friday evening immediately after the final whistle of the match won by Pirlo’s team in Catanzaro (a victory that was effectively useless for sixth place, given Palermo’s contemporary success in Bolzano) – had booked planes and hotels for Palermo.
