A nurse in service at 118 of Foggia was attacked by a man rescued following an accident in the Daunian capital.
It happened last night. The nurse, a 63 year old with 21 years of experience, he would be impressed by the man with a punch in the face upon arrival at the emergency room of the Policlinico Riuniti.
«Already while he was getting out of the ambulance the man gave punches against the vehicle», the nurse reports to Ansa. «The driver and the rescuer who intervened with me on board the ambulance – she says – were verbally attacked».
The attacker, according to what has been learned, was subjected to medical checks and resigned, while the nurse suffered wounds that healed in 10 days and in the next few hours he will formalize the complaint against the attacker.
The police forces – according to what has been reconstructed – intervened following thealarm raised by a nurse of the emergency room through the portable device capable of forwarding emergency calls with intervention priority with which the emergency room was recently equipped through an agreement between the state police and the general management of the hospital.
«We are not protected by anyone. We work – says the nurse bitterly – to bring bread home, to support our families, our children. We cannot live like this, with the fear that something will happen to us. We ask for greater protection.”
