A splendid weekend which highlighted the enthusiasm and active participation of the local community and many visitors
The 46th edition of the ‘Water Marathon’ started at 9.30 from Corso Tacito in Terni, one of the longest running events in the municipal area, which once again highlighted the enthusiasm and active participation of the local community and of visitors from all over Italy.
The organization is from Amatori Podistica Terni and there was the participation of the flag-wavers of San Gemini before the start.
Around 800 runners from Rome, Pisa, Mantua, and Verona participated in the marathon, for an event that combines sport, tourism and friendship.
Participants had the opportunity to choose between two routes: a shorter one of 10 km and a second more challenging one of 21 km which included climbing the Marmore Waterfall natural park.
The winners in the 21 kilometers were Andrea Rofena of Atletica Montefiascone in 1’23.05 and Patrizia Giannini of Athletic Amelia in 1’41.43.
Among the women, Patrizia Giannini of Athletic Amelia took first place with a time of 1 hour and 41 minutes.
