“Let’s make the suburbs more welcoming places”

The municipal elections in Aversa are approaching, among the candidates for the municipal council there is also a brilliant girl, a new entry in politics, Rossella Tufanor. Here is his presentation:

“I am Rossella Tufano, I am running for the Aversa city council for the first time with great joy because it has always been my dream as a child and I have always been passionate about local politics.

I address the voters with great enthusiasm and determination to carry on a battle that I feel deeply: attention to the outskirts of our city. I am aware that these areas are often overlooked and forgotten, but I firmly believe that the future of our community lies in the suburbs.

The suburbs represent the most authentic and lively part of our city, they are the neighborhoods where families gather, young people grow up and dreams take shape. However, they are also the places where the difficulties and challenges are greatest. The time has come to end this disparity and give the suburbs the dignity and opportunities they deserve.

I am aware that the path ahead will not be easy, but I am ready to put all my energy and passion into carrying on this battle. I am convinced that only by joining forces, citizens and institutions, will we be able to make a difference and transform the suburbs into places of opportunity and growth for all.

First of all, it is essential to invest in the creation of job opportunities within the suburbs themselves. We must promote the establishment of businesses and commercial activities in these areas, creating jobs for young people and offering them the opportunity to develop professionally without having to move elsewhere. Additionally, we need to support local entrepreneurship by offering incentives and support to small businesses operating in the suburbs.

Secondly, it is necessary to strengthen public services in the suburbs. Public transport must be efficient and accessible to all, ensuring quick and safe connections with the rest of the city. Schools must be of quality and offer educational and cultural opportunities to our young people. Furthermore, it is essential to strengthen health services, so that every citizen has access to the necessary care without having to travel across the city.

But we cannot limit ourselves to guaranteeing basic services: we must also invest in infrastructure and in the urban redevelopment of the suburbs. We talk about creating parks, green spaces and recreational areas, where families can spend time together and young people can develop their passions. We’re talking about making the suburbs welcoming, safe and livable places, where every citizen feels part of a community.

Finally, it is essential to actively involve suburban citizens in decisions that affect their neighborhood. We must promote civic participation and constant dialogue between administration and community, so that the needs and proposals of the suburbs are listened to and taken into consideration. Only in this way will we be able to build a truly inclusive and participatory future.
