They announced it on the microphone on Saturday afternoon, at the end of the siege of the Lingotto and the Book Fair: «We will occupy all the universities of Turin». They confirmed it yesterday, with a call via social media, and they made it happen this morning: the student intifada has also begun in Turin, that is, demonstrations by associations, students and social centers in favor of Palestine.
The first camp set up is that of the headquarters of the Polytechnic, in via Duca degli Abruzzi. About ten tents appeared in front of the Giovanni Agnelli lecture hall, in the internal courtyard of the Polytechnic while other young people occupied the Physics Institute in via Pietro Giuria with banners, appeals and the phrase “All eyes on Rafah”, the same slogan used for Saturday’s demonstration at the Salone.
At 10.30, however, it will be Palazzo Nuovo’s turn. As announced by the organizers (including Askatasuna), an “acampada” (camping in Spanish) is planned there too: «No more agreements between our universities, the Israeli academy and the military companies» is the request of students and social centers.
