The data relating to separate waste collection in Molfetta in the first three months of 2024 are all to be analysed. The reason? The decrease compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
The source is the Puglia Region portal dedicated to the collection and dissemination of these numbers, a portal on which each Municipality is obliged to insert them for everyone to freely view.
Good: the January data is alarming. If in 2023 Molfetta separated 70.61% of waste in the same month of this year the decline is unequivocal given the 66.41%. Recovery yes in February and March but still average below the same period of the previous year: in February 2024 the calculator stops at 68.82% (69.13% in 2023) while in March 2024 the 68.66% it is the percentage of waste separation (in 2023 it was 69.44%).
The numbers speak for themselves, objectives like nothing else. Molfetta is certainly not a rough municipality, the average still remains positive, but these decreasing numbers must still make us reflect because in the background (but not much) there remains the now perennial sensation of a dirty and filthy city with the usual landfill areas and corners open sky.
