The conference dedicated to the 1720th anniversary of the martyrdom of San Simplicio, the patron saint of the city and the Diocese of Tempio-Ampurias, will be held this afternoon at 5pm. The meeting takes place in the Basilica of San Simplicio and will be broadcast by Teleregione Live. The parish, led by Don Antonio Tamponi and in collaboration with the Euromediterranean Institute, organized this moment with illustrious academics to delve deeper into the life and impact of San Simplicio and to allow the faithful to experience the figure of San Simplicio with greater awareness much loved and venerated.

The themes of the conference include the physiognomy of the Christian community in the 4th century, analyzed by the archbishop of Sassari, mons. Gian Franco Saba, and the economics and law of the time of San Simplicio, presented by Carlo Lazzari of the Guardia di Finanza. Furthermore, Canon Don Paolo Pala will discuss the persecutions of Diocletian and the role of San Simplicius as a martyr.
