Sorrento – Massa Lubrense road closed for asphalt works. Big inconvenience, wasn’t it better to work at night? From Monday 13 May 2024, for about ten days, if all goes well, but we are used to delays, new interventions will begin for the resurfacing of the road surface in the municipal area of Massa Lubrense. The works will affect Via Partenope, the road that reaches the border with the Municipality of Sorrento, and also Largo Vescovado and Viale Filangieri, practically the entire area of the city centre. A reflection, which we hear from citizens, is a must, but why not do these jobs at night? For the costs? And are the costs for tourism, which sees very high movements due to the intense flows between the Sorrento Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast, and the damage to economic activities, not taken into consideration?
To allow the asphalt scarification and laying operations, it is necessary to close the affected sections of road to transit. As regards Via Partenope in particular, in the time slots indicated in the provision of the municipal police commander, Pasqualino Barletta, traffic between Massa Lubrense and Sorrento is expected to be suspended.
Below is the text of the ordinance in the part that imposes traffic restrictions.
From 13 May 2024 to 24 May 2024 and/or in any case until the end of the works, on via Partenope, largo Vescovado and viale Filangieri, the establishment of the following temporary measures regarding road traffic:
From 7.30 am to 5.30 pm, from Monday to Friday, parking ban with forced removal of all motor vehicles, in the areas indicated by the signs posted on site;
From 7.30 am to 9 am, from Monday to Friday, narrowing of the carriageway with alternating one-way traffic for all motor vehicles, regulated by a traffic light system and/or traffic lights, in the section affected by the works;
From 9 am to 1 pm and from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm, from Monday to Friday, vehicular transit is prohibited in the section affected by the works, excluding emergency/rescue vehicles and authorized personnel;
From 5.30pm to 9am the following day and from 1pm to 2.30pm, from Monday to Friday and on Saturday and Sunday from 00.00am to midnight, in the section affected by the works and reopened to vehicular transit , maximum speed limit of 10 km/h;
From 7.30 am to 5.30 pm, from Monday to Friday, parking ban with forced removal of all motor vehicles, on via Santa Teresa, in the areas indicated by the signs posted on site;
From 9 am to 5.30 pm, from Monday to Friday, two-way traffic on via Santa Teresa;
From 9 am to 1 pm and from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm, from Monday to Friday, one-way traffic on via Molini-via Arorella-via Montecorbo, for motor vehicles coming from via Partenope towards Sorrento, excluding residents, authorized persons and two-wheeled vehicles;
From 00:00 to 24, from Monday to Sunday, parking ban with forced removal of all motor vehicles on via Molini-via Arorella-via Montecorbo in the areas indicated by the signs posted on site.
