A discussion was held at the Confcommercio headquarters in Cesena between the Confcommercio board of directors and the mayoral candidate Marco Giangrandi (Cesena Siamo Noi) accompanied by Luigi Di Placido (Cambiamo) and Mattia Biondi (Italia Viva), allied political groups. “Confcommercio – remarked the Cesena president Corrado Augusto Patrignani – meets all the mayoral candidates in Cesena eager to discuss with our association which wants to make a proactive contribution to the improvement of the city, as we do on several occasions with projects and initiatives. For us it is important to know the candidates’ proposals and evaluate them without any ideological prejudice. For entrepreneurs, what counts are clear, measurable objectives and, above all, facts. Our motto is knowing to decide.”

During the discussion, candidate Giangrandi then spoke and illustrated the program, highlighting in particular the objectives in favor of businesses, including a no tax area, intended as a contribution for all companies that settle in the Cesena area , especially for small and women-owned businesses to which the three-year exemption from municipal contributions is guaranteed. Another objective is to strengthen the relationship between the business world and the university center in order to retain in the city the skills that are trained in our university and that find work outside the city.

The members of the Confcommercio board of directors subjected the candidate to a barrage of questions on the topics of safety and the fight against degradation from the center to the periphery, from mobility to be made more fluid and from parking areas to be increased, to infrastructures to be created starting from their zero, and of an extraordinary plan to support trade and the tourist city and culture. The members of the board also went into detail about the specific problems of the various hamlets, indicating a series of interventions to be carried out and asking that whoever will administer carries out urban regeneration in all parts of the city, in all the neighbourhoods.

There was also talk of the relaunch of the Foro Annonario as a city heritage to be relaunched and President Patrignani invited those who will administer the public body to create, through municipal policies, an environment favorable to businesses also with bureaucratic simplification and reduction of the tax burden, but especially through incentive policies. According to the association, the revitalization of the historic center and the fight against dull shop windows with appropriate interventions deserve particular attention, an objective which the mayoral candidate Giangrandi has ensured is a priority in his programme.
