Football Promotion playoffs, one feat leads to another and Faenza will play the final on Sunday

One business leads to another at Faenza. The Manfreda team confirms itself as a team in form and at ease in the end-of-season playoffs. Faenza, after winning the play-offs in their group, beat Reggio Emilia’s Arcetana 1-0 in the regional semi-final which took place last Sunday. It was a quiet match with few flare-ups, between two teams satisfied with the playoff victory in their respective group, but still on the pitch to honor the continuation of the competition at the San Giorgio in Piano stadium in the Bologna area. Faenza became dangerous especially in the second half, in the 11th minute, with Gimelli hitting a treacherous cross on which Lusvarghi intervened, saving it for a corner and avoiding trouble. On Gimelli’s still precise corner it was Karaj who came close to scoring. Coach Vezzoli then chose the eighteen year olds Zani, Caroli and in the end Cavolini for an injection of freshness and the move worked. In full recovery the winning goal arrived for the biancazzurri with an action entirely signed by three under: it was Cavolini himself, with a right-footed cross, who beat Giaroli and gave the success to Faenza, who they will face in the final of the regional playoffs Sunday 26 May the Bobbiese. The Emilian team beat Solarolo 6-4 (after the penalty shoot-out, regulation time ended 1-1), which therefore was unable to secure the pass for the final act. The best part, therefore, is the all-Faenza derby, but both teams are almost certain to play in Eccellenza next year. Sunday’s match will be the last match of the season for Faenza, who will then have to think about setting up the new championship in Eccellenza.
