The three blue goals all in the first half
Novara Fc wins the first game of the play outs by conquering the Fiorenzuola pitch 3 – 1. The home team immediately attack and Novara Fc is closed and ready to restart. In the 3rd minute Minelli has to come out on Ceravolo who does well with a verticalization to get first. The first quarter of an hour passes with Fiorenzuola trying to create offensive ideas as the Azzurri control and restart. Hard play and nervousness on the pitch. In the 20th minute, Ceravolo shot from distance and was saved by Minelli. In the 22nd minute after a ball lost by Lorenzini, Ceravolo falls in the area but the referee signals to continue. Decision confirmed by Var. Novara closed and struggled to restart due to pressure from the home team. In the 37th minute Bentivegna invents a perfect pass from three quarters for Urso who enters the area and hits his head, causing the ball to bounce on the ground and into the net for the Azzurri’s lead. The home team’s reaction came in the 39th minute when, on a pitch that seemed to end up at the bottom, Minelli blocked the ball at the feet of a Fiorenzuola player who shot without fail into an empty net, but Boccia sacrificed himself by countering with his body. The return match at the “Piola” next Sunday
The second half immediately saw the hosts desperate for a comeback. At 10′ Ceravolo enters the area but Minelli blocks with his fists. The Emilians tried in every way to lay siege to the Novara goal but the Azzurri managed to control their offensive outbursts. However, in the 25th minute Fiorenzuola managed to close the gap. On a cross into the area, Anelli left alone, dives with his head and puts Minelli’s shoulders into the goal. After having closed the gap, Fiorenzuola doesn’t give up. The Novara ranks close together and manage to counter the various attacks. In the 36th minute Ceravolo shoots again without fail and the ball is about to enter the net, but Lorenzini clears it off the line. Fiorenzuola’s final forcing is at a very high pace, a real siege but Novara Fc manages to keep the opponents’ attacks away and in the final come close to the possibility of extending the result. It ends with the Italian victory and thoughts of next Sunday for the return match at the “Piola”.
