«Obviously I’m scared. But I don’t understand the malice of those who worked to prevent me from holding the rally as I would have liked in the center of my Busto Arsizio, sending the police to check documents that were very regular. Patience, it means that we will propose the initiative again in the coming weeks.” This is how Marco Reguzzoni, president of the Republicans and candidate as an independent on the Forza Italia lists in the next European elections, speaks.

On Saturday “the episode that blocked his intervention in the central Via Milano, due to a check carried out by the local police which showed maximum documentary transparency in the organisation”, reports the note signed by Forza Italia and the Republicans.

As I did with the Reguzzoni-Versace law for Made in Italy labelling, in Europe I want to translate those requests into a new and modern regulation. The textile industry has lost half a million workers in recent years, now we need to defend those who have held out to stop the trickle, imposing that the rules that apply to our entrepreneurs are the same as those applied to the Turks, Egyptians and Chinese. The same line must apply to protect our entire production and working sector.”
At that point the local police arrived, “to stop the event and to discover that whoever had urged them to intervene (assuming the lack of authorisations) had made a gigantic mistake”. The Forza Italia candidate concludes: «I would have preferred that whoever took the trouble to do this wickedness had the courage to come personally to argue to my proposals. The electoral campaign represents a month’s interlude, but then there remain the people, their intellectual honesty and their ability to do something concrete to respond to the needs of the territories that choose them to represent them.”
