The testimony of two working mothers from Gallura.

On the topic of parenting and managing work and family time, the direct testimony of two Gallura employees. Daniela Guccini, 40 years old, consultant at the post office of Arzachenain the company since 2014, mother of Marianna8 years old, and Melissa, 5 years. AND Silvia Marras39 years old, manager/single operator at the post office in Bortigiadas, in Poste Italiane since 2008, mother of Lucia3 years, ed Elis2 years.

“Reconciling family and work is not easy – he admits Daniela Guccini– and I would define it all as a real daily challenge. I live in The Magdalene and this certainly affects my commitment, every day. In my case – continues the consultant – the company proved to be very attentive to the issue of parenting. During maternity I had a constant support and in the period offeeding time I had the opportunity to work “on secondment” at the post office in my town of residence. A fact that certainly helped me during a period that to define as “delicate” would be an understatement. The return after maternity leave was not painless. But thanks to the help of the always attentive staff of the provincial branch and of my colleagues – he concludes – I managed to reconcile work and family in the best way.”

“Being a mother/worker – she says Silvia Marras –, it means running a lot. Many sacrifices, but also a thousand satisfactions. The morning is always a race, between the alarm clock, kindergarten, unexpected events and work, but then in the evening it’s a joy to be able to all find ourselves together. Even today, years later, I thank the company for having welcomed me into this large family in which, among other things, I have met my husband, during a period on the peninsula. Poste Italiane allowed me, until the child’s first birthday, to work for four hours a day at the headquarters in Calangianus, my country of residence. Subsequently, I get a part-time job to dedicate more time to my family. I wish all mothers to find the same sensitivity that I was able to experience first-hand in the company. So as to be able to fulfill oneself at work and above all in family life”, concludes the employee from Gallura.
