The League of Modena presented its candidates for the elections for the renewal of the Modena City Council, this morning the Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti spoke at local 212 to express support for the Northern League candidates and the candidate centre-right mayor Luca Negrini. A quick intervention by Giorgetti, struck by a family bereavement and forced to review the plans for a day in Modena.
The Minister emphasized the difficulty of the Modena challenge, in a land traditionally under a very different political flag, but encouraged those present – around fifty people – to face the electoral campaign with determination and “always with a smile”.
The city secretary of the League of Modena, Caterina Bedostri, in presenting the Northern League list, underlined that the candidates “are first and foremost the fullest expression of Modena society and reality. They are freelance professionals (engineers, entrepreneurs… ) but also of pensioners, housewives, fathers and mothers of families, school teachers, young people”.
“Everyone – added Bedostri – with their own feelings, their own needs and requirements, connected to each other, with the desire to offer their own contribution by working and acting together, with the aim of finding solutions to combat and overcome those problems that are now they are an indelible characteristic of a Modena that no one recognizes anymore. We started from listening, from comparing, from questioning ourselves, as well as doing so without fear. And we will move forward in this direction, certain that only in this way can we be on the side of the citizens and what they need. We have lived for years under the sign of the imposition of monocratic and party will, of decisions from above, of the interests of a few to the detriment of the many or rather, of everyone, with tangible and deleterious results, under the eyes of We would like and we are committed to changing things, because the time has come for Modena to move on, because the story is fundamental, but it is appropriate for someone else to start writing it.
