Boredom ignites the Malmo Arena

The Finnish singer Kaarija, who came second in last year’s Eurovision with the song «Cha Cha Cha», renounces at the last minute the role of spokesperson for his country’s jury of the final evening of the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, «I decided to to withdraw from announcing Finland’s votes this evening, it doesn’t seem right to me to do so,” he wrote on his Instagram profile, without specifying the reasons for his decision. The Finnish broadcaster, Yle, said that these were personal reasons and announced that the singer would be replaced by a radio host. In recent days Kaarija, who had performed in the second semi-final at the beginning of the week, asked for a video of him together with the Israeli singer Eden Golan to be removed from social media which, he wrote last Thursday on Instagram, had been published on social media without his permission. The Finnish artist’s announcement comes after the Norwegian singer of Italian origin Alessandra Mele, who was supposed to be the ‘spokeperson’ for Norway at the Eurovision final, announced her withdrawal from the broadcast a few hours before the final, denouncing the Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip.
