Caltanissetta, inauguration of the mural dedicated to Leonardo Sciascia created by Roberto Collodoro. “Creative Spaces” project – il Fatto Nisseno

The mural created by the artist Roberto Collodoro entitled “Sweet Trinity – Declination of a Territory” and dedicated to Leonardo Sciascia was inaugurated this afternoon (Saturday 11 May) in via Scovazzo in Caltanissetta.

The project was born 3 years ago from the idea of Eros Di Prima, architect and founder of the Cultural Association “Creative Spaces”, and its members Eliezer Lombardi, Juri Di Prima, Valeri Lo Presti and Alfredo Dell’Utri.
After years of preparation, the project also came to life through the allocation of funds from the Municipality of Caltanissetta allocated through the 2022 “Participatory Budgets” call and the preferences expressed by the citizens of Nisse.

Now– underlines “Creative Spaces”- we were able to place the first pieces of the “puzzle” which, from time to time, will be realized and will give life to our creation. Year by year we will expand the initial idea with an ever-increasing introduction of thematic itineraries to connect to those already existing. Furthermore, our idea involves the redevelopment of various areas of the historic center: already this year, for example, we are creating a mural in Via Scovazzo”.

The creation of three thematic “Roads” is planned, Literary, Architectural and Food and Wine, each characterized by points of interest: these will be marked by the presence of columns made of Corten on which the so-called “Stickers” will be applied, artistic works which will have the function to identify the single thematic area.

These works were selected through a contest organized on the web and which saw the participation of numerous local and national artists, as well as that of various students from Nisse schools.

On May 3, the three winning artists were selected and in particular: for the Strada della Letteratura, Cristina Abbate, for the Strada dell’Architettura Mauro Fornasero, for the Strada dell’Enogastronomia Patrizia Cataldo.

A QR-CODE will be placed on each of the selected “stickers”. By scanning the code, the visitor will have the opportunity to connect to the website created for the project and have access to audio guides, videos and a wealth of other information.

The idea of the “Stickers”, with the QR-CODE inside, which will also be distributed in adhesive form, was created with the intention of allowing ever greater dissemination of our city on a global level. In fact, each visitor will be able to take our sticker home with them and stick it on the wall or give it as a gift to a friend: a quick and cost-free vehicle for getting to know our territory.

The President of the Eros Di Prima Cultural Association: “I strongly believe in the design of a new identity for the city of Caltanissetta, which can be the beginning of urban, cultural, political and social regeneration. There is no need to pursue the past, there is no need to destroy it, sometimes it is necessary to travel in new directions that lead to change. We have the moral duty to water all together the seed that we try to cultivate, that seed that sprouts for the good of all. I believe that art combined with the history, architecture, tradition and resources of this city can be a rebirth.”
