Large crowd on Saturday morning in Spoleto for the start of the eighth stage of the Giro d’Italia 2024, with an uphill finish expected in Prati di Tivo, in Abruzzo. The start is scheduled for 12.30 in Piazza Garibaldi, where the athletes’ punching also takes place. The city is all decorated in pink, from the shop windows to the balconies of the houses to the clothes of the public, most of whom found themselves in Piazza Garibaldi.
POGACAR’S MASTERPIECE IN PERUGIA
The race The cyclists with their respective teams and vehicles arrived at the Garibaldi barracks in via Cerquiglia around 10.30 am. From here they will move to reach Piazza Garibaldi. The pink caravan will cross the entire historic city center and then take the Flaminia and begin the actual race on the provincial Forca di Cerro, along which km zero has been set. The stage overall is 152 km. Friday, however, was the day of Tadej Pogacar’s masterpiece, increasingly leading the standings after winning the Foligno-Perugia time trial.
