Last April 20th, he stood out for his musical qualities and strong motivation, in the “Meetings on the Stage”, an event organized at the “Marco Galdi” Music High School in Cava de’ Tirreni, the only venue for the Center and South, from The International Association ESTA (European String Teachers Association) which promotes the pedagogy and teaching of stringed instruments and contributes to the professional training of instrumentalists.
He is Luca Galotto, student of professor Ivan Iannone, cello teacher at De Filippis Galdi.
A student in his fifth year of high school, Galotto has numerous participations in competitions to his credit, achieving brilliant results, and in training courses.
He was the winner, in the years 2018/19, at the “Peppe Caso” National Music Competition Città di Pagani, at the Giovani Promesse Città di Bracigliano Competition, and at the “Città di Baronissi” International Musical Performance Competition, in 2023.
He also participated in the Academic Master of the Mousikè – Accademia Musica Spettacolo of Salerno, as a solo cello, and in the laboratory of the Scarlatti Junior Orchestra of Naples from 2021 to 2024.
Of note is the Commission which examined the students coming from all over Campania, from different training courses such as the Music High Schools or the Conservatories of the region. In addition to a representative of the ESTA Association, present were Anna Modesti, professor of the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland, Giuseppe Carotenuto, concertmaster of the first violins of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Diana Gaci Scaletti, teacher in the orchestral courses for children at the School of Music of Fiesole, Ivan Iannone and Giuseppina Niglio, professors of cello and viola and violin respectively at the Liceo De Filippis Galdi.
Luca Galotto will perform on Sunday 12 May in the National Festival of Young String Instrumentalists which will take place in the city of Cremona, home of luthiers.
Great satisfaction was expressed by the school director Maria Alfano, by the prof. Ivan Iannone, and all the teachers of the Music Department of the Cavese High School.
