The Carabinieri of the Policoro Company they performed against a 32 year old from Montalbano Jonico (MT) the precautionary measure of the ban on approaching the ex-partner, ordered by the Judicial Authority of Matera, for the cases of crime of family abuse, persecution, personal injury, private violence and serious threat.
The woman, during a cohabitation of some years, during which a baby girl was bornwould have suffered violent conduct, both verbal and physical, even in the presence of the minor.
No longer able to bear the violence, she left the marital home in March 2024, and after starting a new relationship, she was forced to turn to the Carabinieri because her ex-partner continued to threaten her, stalk her and insult her, also directing serious threats towards the woman’s new partner.
The investigations began immediately, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Matera, and serious indications of guilt were gathered against the man which led the Preliminary Investigation Judge, at the request of the Public Prosecutor, to issue the precautionary measure of ban on approaching the victim, with the application of control by electronic means (so-called “electronic bracelet”), despite the necessary clarification that the investigations carried out so far are still in the preliminary investigation phase and require subsequent procedural verification in the cross-examination with the defence.
For the activity carried out by the Carabinieri under the direction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Matera, the collaboration of the victim and of the people informed about the facts, who placed their complete trust in the institutions, was fundamental.
