The wait for the XXV edition of Duemilalibri, scheduled for November 2024, will be heated up by an extraordinary event dedicated to contemporary literature. This morning, Friday 10 May, in the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Gallarate, the councilor for culture Claudia Mazzetti and the mayor Andrea Cassani have announced that on Sunday 19 May, starting from 4.00 pm, the MaGa Museum will welcome a stage of the Strega Tour 2024. An initiative of great prestige, in which they will come the twelve candidates for the 78th edition were presented of the prestigious Strega Prize.

The event is organized in collaboration with the City of Gallarate and Duemilalibri – Book and Author Days, as well as the MA*GA and Biblos Mondadori. An extraordinary opportunity for literature enthusiasts to be able to meet in person the authors vying for the most authoritative national literary recognition, made even more exclusive by the fact that the one in Gallarate is one of the few events on Lombardy soil, after the presentation in Bergamo.

On May 19th the event, in the Sala degli Arazzi, will be moderated by Alessandro Barbaglia, writer and bookseller well known by the Duemilalibri audience. Barbaglia, winner of the Strega Girls and Boys Award in 2021 with his first children’s book “Scacco mato tra le stelle”, will lead the presentation of the twelve selected authors.

Proud Claudia Mazzetti: «This year will be the 25th edition of our Duemilalibri literary festival: a fundamental stage for us and so we went in search of something that would be a new entry for the festival. The excellent collaboration with the Biblos bookshop, with Fabio Lagiannella who this year was elected bookseller of the year, led to contacts with the famous and prestigious Premio Strega: we thus became one of the 26 stops on their presentation tour, unique with Bergamo in Lombardy”.

Last April 5, the steering committee of the Strega prize chose the 12 finalists among the 82 works proposed by the Amici della Domenica. The candidates in the race are:
