The regional tender for contributions for surveillance and rescue on free beaches has been opened. The overall expenditure for 2024 is one million euros.
The warning
The notice from the regional department of local authorities is aimed at Sicilian municipalities, which have the obligation to equip themselves with the service, as required by regional law 17 of 1998, ensuring beach assistance on a daily basis, without interruptions, from 9am to 7pm for a period of not less than sixty days and not more than one hundred and twenty, between May 1st and September 30th of each year.
Prevention and protection of the safety of bathers in the summer season must be guaranteed by the presence of lifeguards, equipping the beaches with the necessary equipment and services in compliance with the provisions issued by the competent port authorities. The application for admission to the contribution must be sent to the regional department of local authorities – Service 4 “Transfers to local authorities for the financing of functions” exclusively, via a specific certified email service, no later than 15 June 2024 to [email protected].
