12.04 – Friday 10 May 2024

Sala Depero invaded by 250 young people for the event “Where is Autonomy” Formidable sight this morning in Sala Depero. The historic institutional room was joyfully invaded by 250 children (11 elementary school classes and 3 middle school classes) who participated in the first stage of know autonomy Focus entitled: “Where is Autonomy”. The opportunity for the students to present (and they did so with great ownership of language and clarity) the research work on the life and history of their communities that they developed during the school year in collaboration with the Council’s project # We know autonomy. Works which, from today to 14 June, are on display in the atrium of Palazzo Trentini.

The Prime Minister joyfully welcomed the very young people who, he said, represent the future of our autonomy. Surprised by the quality of the works, he highlighted that the children were able to grasp an essential aspect of Trentino’s history: the growth path which, thanks to Autonomy, allowed our people to move from poverty to current levels of well-being. The meeting in the Depero room ended with thanks to the teachers and students by the vice president of the Council who recalled that the children’s work showed a common thread: Autonomy means doing with responsibility but doing it together.

The vice-president of the Council also brought her greetings, thanking the Council staff (Chiara Bertolini, Rodolfo Ropelato, Claudia Matuella, Anna Eccher, Nicola Tomasi, Francesca Depedri, Elisa Ranzi, Daniele Cristofolini) and the teachers who have worked and are working with passion to the project of autonomy. The children of IV Pietramurata, IV Vezzano, and V delle Sarche sang a song dedicated to the seasons of Trentino. Finally, the 250 young people sang the historic hymn to Trentino and closed the meeting with a thunderous: Long live autonomy!
The mayors of the municipalities of origin of the students also participated in the meeting in the Depero room, wearing the tricolor sash. “Where is Autonomy” ended with the children’s visit to the exhibition of their works at Palazzo Trentini.

This is the description of the school papers.

SEREGNANO PRIMARY SCHOOL – SCHOOL YESTERDAY AND TODAY
Among the various skills that our Autonomous Province enjoys and in which students feel most interested is that relating to education. Starting from this premise, the students carried out a description of their school (geographical location, catchment area, structure, location of spaces and classrooms…) and a research work supported by interviews, aimed at comparing today’s school with yesterday’s. The comparison was made on the subjects, report cards, punishments, the role of the teacher, the means used to go to school, the furnishings and equipment used in the classroom, the city school and the village school. The work is also accompanied by a beautiful scale model of the Seregnano school.

EARLY CLASSES “SACRO CUORE” SECONDARY SCHOOL OF TRENTO – COMMUNICATION ROUTES AND BORDERS
Trentino has always been a border land, and over the centuries it has therefore constituted the scene of conflicts but also of profitable and fruitful exchanges, which led our ancestors to work to build an open and supportive society: today what enriches us is also the presence in our territory of linguistic minorities (the Ladins, the Mocheni, the Cimbrians) and of a dense network of voluntary associations, which operate in all social sectors. The students created their own motto on the occasion of the designation of Trento as the European capital of volunteering: “Volunteering unites people / of every people and every nation”.

FIRST CLASS “SACRO CUORE” SECONDARY SCHOOL OF TRENTO –
DISCOVER THE EUREGIO BY BIKE – TOUR OF THE ALPS
A healthy and sustainable way of “connecting” the territories of the Euregio (Trentino-Alto Adige-Austrian Tyrol) is to travel them through the dense network of cycle paths, which constitute real “bridges” between peoples as well as ecological communication routes. The students thus created a real mapping of these cross-border routes and proposed a tour of the Alps, which touches some of the most characteristic and valuable towns of the Euregio.

PRIMARY SCHOOL OF BRENTONICO – PULSANTE SCHOOL
The fifth year students graphically represented the project which involved the primary and secondary schools of Brentonico, entitled “Buttoning School”. The project, also financially supported by the Autonomous Province of Trento and the municipal administration of Brentonico, was aimed at innovating spaces, methodology and teaching to make school time more stimulating and engaging for students and to allow them to optimize results, obtaining gratification.

SARCHE PRIMARY SCHOOL – CYCLE PATH
The autonomy enjoyed by our Province has allowed fifth grade students to become proactive and active subjects in bringing improvements to the stretch of cycle path that crosses the municipality of Sarche. In collaboration with the PAT Cycle Path Management Office, the schoolchildren created a flowerbed equipped with bins for separate waste collection and embellished with aromatic herbs and signs and with the Valle dei Laghi Ecomuseum (SI.VAL project) they created a an outdoor classroom, to spread knowledge of the animals that populate the stretch of river that runs alongside the cycle path.

PIETRAMURATA PRIMARY SCHOOL – MOUNTAINS AND ANIMALS
The work proposed by the students starts from the geological birth of the mountains that surround the charming towns of the Valle dei Laghi. It then analyzes the flora and fauna that characterize it, the ability to inspire poets and artists in general, the threats that jeopardize its natural balance and the important role played by the Autonomous Province of Trento, through the means of various bodies in safeguarding this heritage.

CARISOLO PRIMARY SCHOOL – VOLUNTEER ASSOCIATIONS
The students created a poster to enhance, promote and pay homage to the realities and people who provide time, skills and a powerful charge of humanity to help others and improve the quality of life of the community they belong to: Volunteer Fire Brigades , Pro Loco, “Vite Intertwined” House, Pinzolo – Alta Rendena Sick Transport Rescue and Alpine Rescue.

BASELGA DI PINÈ PRIMARY SCHOOL – ASUC AND MOUNTAIN HUTS
The students, starting from the consideration that the territory is an asset for all and that it must be preserved and valorised, have identified in this perspective the ASUC (the provincial associations for the separate management of ancient collective civic uses), a very important administrative body. There are 14 on the Pinè Plateau and the boys have summarized their history and purposes well, starting from the beginning, and then representing them graphically.

VEZZANO PRIMARY SCHOOL – THE RANZO AND MARGONE STREET
The pupils of class IV carried out research based mainly on interviews with people who experienced firsthand the birth of the daring rock road that connects Ranzo and Margone and its subsequent provincialisation. The theme of the design and construction of connecting infrastructures is fundamental in a particular land like Trentino, made up of often harsh valleys, in which it is very complicated to move. Autonomy has greatly influenced this aspect and if today it is easier to move within our Province it is because in the past we invested in this aspect.

SANT’URSOLA PRIMARY SCHOOL – AUTONOMY
The students of Sant’Orsola talked about Autonomy starting from the meaning that in their opinion should be attributed to this word and then “playing” with it by creating an acrostic. Following an invisible thread they paid homage to personalities of the caliber of Alcide De Gasperi and Bruno Kessler, they identified the natural resources of our Region which have been transformed into important economic resources and finally they spoke about linguistic minorities and identified the bodies responsible for their valorisation and protection .

DARÈ PRIMARY SCHOOL – ASUC
The separate administration of civic uses (Asuc) was once again the theme, explored this time by the boys from Darè, both through historical research on the meaning of the term and on how this activity took shape and continues to take shape in Val Rendena. The model they brought to the exhibition is very beautiful and represents an operating model of a hydroelectric plant that reconstructs the active system in Val Rendena, which flows into the large Santa Messere dam in the Valle dei Laghi.
