The air is tense, the fans are buzzing, the anticipation builds. Ternana on Friday evening at the stadium Garilli Piacenza is playing everything for survival. ‘The’ match is one of the key ones, the imperative for the rossoverdi is to win. The Fere will be accompanied in the final ride by 1,360 supporters who, in order not to leave the city team ‘alone’, left for northern Italy. Many others, or at least we imagine, will be at the stadium Set Yourself Free of Terni where the Via della Bardesca club will install a giant screen to enjoy (hopefully) the last 90 minutes of the championship.
Feralpisalò-Ternana A clash, that of Friday evening, which is certainly closer to the heart of the Terni team (Feralpisalò was relegated to Serie C on the last day), but “not to be underestimated”, as also admitted by coach Roberto Breda during the press conference pre-match. In fact, at the end of the match, Ternana could be directly saved, forced to play the play outs or even relegated. It also depends on the results of the other fields, with all eyes on Spezia, Ascoli and Bari.
The scenarios Let’s now propose the ‘salvation combinations’ again. Ternana is safe if: they win and Spezia loses or draws; wins and Ascoli and Bari lose; draws, Ascoli and Bari don’t win and Spezia loses. Instead, the Fere will be play out if: the rossoverdi win, Spezia wins and at least one of Ascoli and Bari does not lose; Ternana loses or draws and at least one of Ascoli and Bari doesn’t win. The worst of the epilogues would instead occur if Ternana lost or drew and Ascoli and Bari won, by virtue of the separate classification which sees Fere at a disadvantage compared to their pursuers.
