As announced, the workers of the Gran Sasso tourist center are going on strike today in L’Aquila: after yesterday’s unsuccessful meeting, a garrison at the luminous fountain
The garrison is located in front of the info point, also managed by workers from the Gran Sasso tourist centre.
At present, unfortunately, no solution has yet been proposed to safeguard the workers, around twenty permanent workers and the same number of seasonal workers for whom, at the moment, there is no possibility of saving their jobs.
The staff asks to be relocated to other subsidiaries of the Municipality at least during the period of downtime of the cable car, which is expected to be long.
This morning there were workers and unions at the rally, but also some opposition politicians. Other protest actions cannot be ruled out.
Among those present were the employees Alfonso Ianni and Vito Ciccarella who reiterated their great concern by asking the owners, i.e. the Municipality, to intervene. Meanwhile, a special municipal commission will be held on the Gran Sasso issue on Tuesday.
