Santo Stefano del Sole enters the circuit of Most sustainable countries in Italy. Saturday 11 May, in the Baronial Palace, the delivery of the official flag in the presence of the mayor Gerardo Santoli, the councilor Nunzia Pagano, the national president of the association Pino Vitale, the technical director Angelo Vecchione, the president of the scientific committee, Annarita De Feo and the national vice president, Giaunluca Mastrovito.
«In the year of Sustainability and Agenda 20-30, we are pleased to be able to begin the path towards the sustainability system with the Municipality of Santo Stefano del Sole – announces Pino Vitale – validating the elements and careful choices on environmental issues, already implemented by the Municipality”.
«It is a great opportunity for municipalities, like ours, in the internal areas – says the Mayor Gerardo Santoli – be part of a promotion system not only linked to the theme of culture and heritage enhancement, but also to the promotion of the landscape, understood as a complex system of anthropic and natural elements. Directing the development choices of the Santo Stefano del Sole community towards conscious options that look at environmental and landscape riches, in the richest sense of the term, as the only possible source for the real growth of our places is a conscious action”.
«Together with the Association, the Municipality lays the first step for a path that identifies sustainability – he adds Gianluca Mastrovito – that is, in safeguarding all local identities, whether material or immaterial, the only feasible path for the consolidation of our communities”.
«The principles of sustainability such as the energy-saving lighting system, the mountain bike path (bike park), various sports facilities for multiple disciplines, the equipped green areas, the natural pedestrian paths, are elements that contribute – concludes the ‘councillor Nunzia Pagano – to make cities more liveable but above all they give the possibility of directing future development”.
